  • Communicating with insurance companies to clarify and confirm coverage, including assistance with the Prior Authorization process and denied claims
  • Insurance counseling that educates uninsured and underinsured patients on government insurance programs
    • If your patients need assistance with the Affordable Care Act, we can help patients and providers become familiar with insurance options
  • Financial assistance options, including:
    • The Biogen Copay Program, which may lower the cost of TYSABRI for eligible patients with commercial insurancea
    • Reimbursement services to provide coverage support in the administration of TYSABRI
    • An Administration Copay Assistance Program, providing up to $250 for eligible patients
    • Other possible financial assistance, where applicable

aEffective January 1, 2021, there is an annual cap on the amount of assistance that patients can receive over a one-year period. Federal and state laws and other factors may prevent or otherwise restrict eligibility. People covered by Medicare, Medicaid, the VA/DoD, or any other federal plans are not eligible to enroll. You are eligible to enroll in the Biogen Copay Program for as long as it is offered and you are treated with a Biogen relapsing MS medication. The Biogen Copay Program is no longer available for TECFIDERA patients in the states of Massachusetts and California.

TOUCH Prescribing Program

TOUCH® Prescribing Program

The TOUCH® Prescribing Program is designed to inform prescribers, pharmacies, administration sites, and patients about the risk of progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML) associated with TYSABRI. The program also provides real-time access to patient data and can help maintain compliance.

Learn more about the TOUCH® Prescribing Program or speak to one of our Biogen Case Managers at 1-800-456-2255.

Biogen Case Managers

Biogen Case Managers (Support Coordinators) are here to help your patients start and continue on TYSABRI. A Biogen Case Manager will reach out to your patient after they are prescribed TYSABRI.

Biogen Case Managers will also:

  • Educate your patients on financial assistance options available for TYSABRI
  • Provide patient status updates to your office to help you stay up-to-date with their TYSABRI treatment
  • Connect patients to free anti-JCV antibody testing and infusion site information

  • Investigate patient benefits to help determine the best coverage options for your patients, including assistance with the process of prior authorizations and denied claims

  • Help your patients understand what to expect during TYSABRI infusions
  • Give information that may help manage common TYSABRI side effects
  • Provide education about available resources for TYSABRI patients

A Nurse Educator can come to your office and educate your staff on how they can help support your patients on TYSABRI. Nurse Educators can also provide patients with supplemental side-effect mitigation strategies and communicate with you about your patients’ start date and any treatment challenges they have expressed.

TYSABRI Ongoing Support Program

The optional TYSABRI Ongoing Support Program provides patients with periodic check-ins from Biogen Case Managers (Support Coordinators) and Nurse Educators to assess patients’ progress on therapy and to answer any questions they may have about their treatment with TYSABRI.b

Once patients are registered in the TOUCH® Prescribing Program, they are automatically enrolled to participate in the TYSABRI Ongoing Support Program.

  • Patients will receive a welcome call and a first-dose follow-up call from a Biogen Case Manager
  • After the first-dose follow-up call, a Nurse Educator will contact patients to ask about their experience and remind them about the re-authorization process
  • As their 1-year anniversary on TYSABRI approaches, a Biogen Nurse Educator will check in with patients once again and continue to follow up about every 6 months thereafter

Patients can opt out of the TYSABRI Ongoing Support Program at any time and still continue to take advantage of resources offered through Biogen Support Services. Your office may also opt out of the program on behalf of your patients.

bPatient consent is required before a Biogen Case Manager or Nurse Educator can contact your patient.
